Diablo2 Bad. Fallout Good. UT Slow. PS2 Boring.

I'm ditching the FSGS server. The software is hand-cuffed by Blizzard's pathetic attempts at networking. Also - Epic's been churning out UT updates, and the 4.32 patch alleviates the CD requirement. Kudos to Epic. The 4.36 patch is out, but I'll wait on it for a bit. Also, if you dig Assault at all, the Eavy Assault Bonus Pack is a must have. I played the Rune demo some, and it's fun. I generally turn my nose up at 3rd person FPS games (that makes them TPS, right?), but the interface and camera control instantly felt like an old friend. Probably because it's virtually unchanged from UT's spectator camera control! Old Man Murray blistered the game, because of it's apparent lack of any originality. But - if you're like me, you don't get to play anything anyway so it'll probably feel like completely uncharted territory. However - I've come to the conclusion that you need a ~900MHz box to run any Unreal engine game, so I've put Rune on my summer 2001 list, at which point I'll have either upgraded or skewered my own eyeballs and joined a monastary. 23fps on UT. Sheesh.

Whilst feeling miserable about my hardware predicament, I took solace in the arms of a little lady called FALLOUT! When god created RPGs, he had Fallout in mind. Only with better AI.

Oh - and I played a little PS2. It's like the dreamcast, only without the fun.
